diet cookies anyone?

saturday baking: cookie diet

so... i've been craving to eat some cookies these past few days. aaaand i am also aware of the new cookie diet rav
e that has been previewed in the tv. it's about the diet cookies... cookies that people eat to lose weight. imagine that! even I  would go on a diet if that's the case. haha so then i thought, if i were to make some cookies, i might as well make diet cookies!! soooo i went on the internet and browsed for some wonderful diet cookie recipes, and found this!

and so i made these!

hehehe. diet cookies! this was the second time i made these cookies. the first time i made them, i didn't use the brown sugar which was called for in the recipe... well, there was none at home and i was already excited to bake and EAT these cookies. haha. and i baked them for longer then, just because i thought they didn't bake enough at just 10 minutes... they were marvelous when still hot, but when it got cooler, the cookies turned quite hard... but still crunchy tho.

so, since i've bought brown sugar yesterday... i decided to give the cookies another go. i know that this is a very good recipe, should i follow it to the T. sooo yesterday i made another batch, and they turned out good! i added in chopped walnuts as well, and the taste blended in really well with the cookies!

it was a really fine saturday, yesterday. the sun shone brightly, and the air was cool and breezy. just my kind of perfect, lovely weekend. being in the very good mood that i was yesterday, i went out and cut a few roses off the bush in front of the house. they're lovely don't you think! :')

and also, did you notice the cookie jar? the NEW cookie jar? heheheeeehee i bought them yesterday at target for only 9 dollars!! it's on sale now, so to all those in adelaide, grab it now while it lasts! haha. it's actually a candy jar tho, but it's really big, i'd prefer storing homemade cookies in it :D

see the cookies? i simply loveee how homemade cookies look so perfectly imperfect :) don't you? heheee. oh, and that's a new cooling rack i bought from the general trader store recently. they were having a closing down sale and this was sold at only 9 dollars. i just had to buy it!! i've been wanting to get one for ages!

i found out that these cookies were actually meant to be a bit soft and chewy... since the last time i made them they turned out kinda hard and crispy... probably because i baked them for longer. but this time around, the cookies turned out soft, and chewy :)

but then again... maybe it's up to your preference really! if you like them crispy, bake for longer. if you like them soft, bake for a shorter time!
